Debi Jackson shares the story of her transgender child, who transitioned from male to female when she was four years old. Debi explains that: “I had never heard of transgender before and I didn’t really know what to think…” But then one day, when her child said: “Mum you know I’m really a girl right? I’m a girl on the inside” she knew she had to find out more information.”
Debi explained that “There’s a profound difference between wanting to be something in imaginary play and declaring who you are insistently, consistently and persistently.” She’s proud of her child.
